This is a brief walkthrough for the World Cleanup waste mapping application for Android handhelds.
Illegal garbage dumping is a problem in many parts of the world. World Cleanup is a massive volunteer action to clean up illegal garbage dumps. Around the world garbage will be mapped by volunteers, using handheld devices and the waste map on our website. The map can be seen at www.letsdoitworld.org/wastemap. Mapping the garbage is an important link in coordinating the cleaning activities.
Using your Android to map garbage is very easy.
Download the application for free on the Android market by searching "World Cleanup Waste Mapper" or by scanning the QR code on the right »
Make sure your Android enables third party software (Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> select “Allow Unknown Sources”). In order to map garbage it is necessary to have GPS and internet connection.
After a quick download and installation you can start mapping illegal garbage dumps!

|1. Make sure you have GPS and internet connection. Open the application and choose “New Point”.||2. Now you can take a photo of the garbage.||3. After you have taken the photo, press ”Done”.|

|4. Now simply press ”Add New Point”, or alternatively if you want to report more details about waste point, use ”Add details” instead.||5. If you pressed ”Add details”, then on this screen you can report information about waste size and composition.||6. You can also look up nearby waste locations in the "LIST" menu.|
