We’re doing a big push to increase the number of followers on our Facebook Page, and we need your help.  Together, let’s get our followers up to more than 50,000 by the end of the month!

The more people following our Facebook Page around the world, the more chance we have of getting 5% of the population of participating countries – our ambitious but achievable target – coming out to clean on the big day.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Like our Facebook Page.
  • Invite all your Facebook friends to like our Page too.
    • To do this, scroll down to the ‘Community’ box on the right-hand side of the Page, and click ‘Invite Friends’. Click the ‘Select All’ button, then click ‘Send Invitations’.
    • You can also personalise the message your friends receive with your invitation, to explain more about World Cleanup Day. For example, you could say: “Hi! I’m inviting you to like this Page because I thought you might be interested in supporting it. World Cleanup Day, 15 Sept, will be the biggest civic action in history – millions of people in 150 countries uniting to clean up the world in one day!
  • Post the World Cleanup Day page to your facebook profile, encouraging your friends to Like the page.
    • For example, you could post: “I’m going to be getting involved with World Cleanup Day, on Sept 15th – the biggest civic action in history, with millions of people in 150 countries uniting to clean up the world in one day.  Please like and share this page to help raise awareness! https://www.facebook.com/worldcleanupday2018/
    • You could also add a personal touch to the message. Perhaps saying why you care about this issue, and why you think your friends should care too.

Kati Winter, World Cleanup Day’s Digital Communications Manager, says: “Thankyou so much to everyone who is helping us grow our presence on social media! World Cleanup Day is a civic movement harnessing the power of technology for positive change – and by helping us grow our online audience, you are helping make sure World Cleanup Day is the huge success that it deserves to be.”
